Rosemary Jane (Bannon) Zavarella

Rosemary Zavarella (nee Bannon), age 79 of California, originally of West Haven and Woodbridge, passed away on Feb 11, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Edward F. Zavarella Sr..  Rosemary was born on May 29, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Marie Stevens Bannon.

She is survived by her three children, Edward F Zavarella Jr. of Montana, David J Zavarella, of West Haven, and Michelle A Zavarella (Craig Lowe) of California, and her siblings, Suzanne Boyce (Bill Boyce) of South Carolina, Marymargaret Sczcesiul, of Enfield, Sheila Holt (Michael Holt) of Florida, Patricia Gallichio (Gerald Gallichio) of Florida, and Peter Bannon (Judy Bannon) of North Branford. Rosemary was predeceased by her brother Joseph Bannon and her sister Joanne Johnson. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was enthusiastically devoted to her large family and enjoyed every moment and milestone with them. Prior to her retirement in 2016, Rosemary worked for the Knights of Columbus Insurance, where she had worked in membership records.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11th, from 11am – 1pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  A funeral service will commence at the funeral home at 12:30pm.  Interment will be private.  Rosemary was an artist at heart and loved bright colors. If you attend, please consider honoring her by wearing fun colors.  Donations can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at Act.Alz.org.
