Obituary for Frank John "Junie" Parrett Jr.

Frank John "Junie" Parrett Jr.
Frank John Parrett Jr. of New Haven, age 84 passed away at CT Hospice on February 8th, 2018. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including four daughters. Debra (Randal) Papa, Lynda (Frank) Lanziero, Gail (Dan) Malady, and Suzette Parrett. He is survived by a sister Dolores (the late Vincent) Brandi, and brothers Robert (Anita), Charles (Elizabeth), Thomas (Jeanette), Joseph (Ellen), Edward (Carmela), former wife Jacqueline Poisson, and 16 nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his parents Francis and Catherine (Fuggi) Parrett, former wife Edna Camp, his son Frank III, his sisters Judith Fanelli, Sandra Quarequio, granddaughter Nikole (Malady) Branham and great granddaughter Lisa Marie Chinova. Frank grew up in New Haven, the eldest of nine children. He enjoyed cars, especially Cadillac’s, and in his youth he dappled in amateur boxing, enjoyed singing opera and had a wonderful voice that brought his audience to tears. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing and was a talented carpenter that could fix just about anything in the home with ease. Frank, along with his family operated The Storm Club in New Haven during the late 1960’s and owned and operated The East Side Café in Fairhaven for a decade during the 1980’s. He also worked for Rockbestos-Suprenant in East Granby for 20 years, retiring from full time work in his late 70’s. Frank was a man with great integrity, a loyal friend to many, a loving son, brother, uncle and father, and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. A special mention to his cousin Ray, Jimmy B. and the gang at Dunkin Donuts on Captain Thomas Boulevard for giving him a daily dose of laughter and friendship in his final years.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 10 am on Friday, February 16th at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green, with a service beginning at 10. Burial will be private.
