Alfred David Curry, 59, departed this life on December 22, 2019. He was born on March 27, 1960, in New Haven, CT, the youngest son of Alfred and Vivian Smith Curry. David, as he was known, moved to Bethany, CT, at an early age, and graduated from Amity Regional High School in 1978. He was an avid sportsman, who was a star player on his high school football team. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargeant. David worked to the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, serving as a Union Stewart for many of those years.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a huge Miami Dolphin fan for many years, and had a larger than life personality. He was very spiritual, and loved the truth in God’s word, the bible.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Curry, and his parents, Alfred & Vivian Curry. He leaves to cherish his memory seven children, Nicole (Jeremy) Carlberg, Francis (Amanda) Curry, Richard (Danielle) Renzo, Kristen Saez, Jessica Torchon, Marie (Michael) Williams, and Anthony Curry, siblings, Lawrence (Niki) Curry, Bonnie Curry-Jones (Gregory), Susan Curry-Vaughn (Kenneth), eleven beloved grandchildren, his special friend, Debbie Barbato, and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service will take place on January 4, 2020, at 11AM at West Haven Funeral Home at the green. There will be no other services.
