Arline D. (Deutsch) Zuckerman

Arline Zuckerman, 97, of Orange and Vero Beach, Florida entered into rest on April 22, 2019.  She was the wife of the late Herman Zuckerman.  Beloved mother of Brian (Marty) Zuckerman, Karen (the late Maurice F.) Ford and Dana Llewellyn.  Proud grandmother of Melissa (Rusty) Nichoilson, Tara (Jeffrey) Allen, Ryan (Denice) Ford, Matthew Llewellyn, Jess (Jacob Pratt) Llewellyn and cherished great grandmother of Hannah, Jacob, Colt, Samantha, Jackson and Caleb.  She was predeceased by her sister Natalie Goldstein. 

Arline loved traveling. In the early days, she would travel the country by car from Niagara Falls to the Catskills, to Florida, from the east coast to the west coast; along the way touching on historic and scenic places. Keeping the peace traveling with her three children was a feat. Arline also traveled internationally, traveling from London throughout Europe and the Far East, then by sea, she traveled with her lifelong love, her husband, Herman. They cruised far and wide, Tahiti to the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Mediterranean. Arline worked various jobs, she maintained D.H.I.A books and was backup dairy tester for local farms.  She spent several years as secretary in a local elementary school so she could be close to her children. Arline left the school to become office manager for the family businesses, Nationwide Insurance and then McDonalds. Arline enjoyed playing mah jong. She was a talented knitter, making many memorable afghans, blankets and layettes for her grandchildren.  She also found time to create and sew costumes for local theater groups, as well as clothes and gowns for her girls. We love you, will miss you, but will always smile when we remember the stories and smart ass remarks that were so much a part of who you were.

Friends may visit on SATURDAY MAY 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  There will be no other services.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Fisher House CT, c/o Tom Flowers, 21 Point Lookout, Milford, CT 06460.
