Robert Thomas Comfort

Robert Thomas Comfort, age 68, of Connecticut passed away peacefully on May 5, 2019 at CT Hospice with his loving wife by his side.  For 42 years, he was the loving husband of Mary VanDeusen Comfort.   Bob was born in New Haven, son of the late Robert W. and Olive Tice Comfort.  Prior to his retirement, Bob worked as a driver/deliverer.  He loved to fish, travel, draw and color.  Bob spent quiet time with his wife, enjoying walks and nature's serenity. Bob and Mary enjoyed traveling together, and exploring new places. He leaves behind a large, loving group of friends and family. 

Bob proudly converted to Catholicism in 2014. St. John Vianney Church was very important to him, as that is where, he made his First Holy Communion on June 8, 2014, followed by The Sacrament of Confirmation on November 21, 2014. Bob was the oldest person to be confirmed on that date, and The Bishop even stood to bless Bob, as he could not kneel due to health issues. It was one of the proudest moments of Bob’s life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church on Friday at 11am.  Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.
