Agatha DiPalma Obituary

Agatha (Ida) DiPalma formerly of Orange, CT went peacefully into the arms of her loving God on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the age of 102.  Ida was the second child of Vito and Anna Cassata Cedro and wife of the late Lorenzo (Larry) DiPalma.  She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Janet) DiPalma and Maria (Joseph) Laudano formerly of West Haven; grandchildren, Jared (Marie) DiPalma, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Szuba and Melissa (Gerald Wang) Laudano; great- grandchildren, Kate and Thomas DiPalma, Gia and Mila Szuba and Nathaniel, Samantha and Zachary Wang.

Ida is survived by her sister Mary Bogrette and predeceased by her sister Josephine DelMonico and brothers Vito Cedro Jr., Michael Cedro and Phillip Cedro.

Ida was born in New Haven, Connecticut on February, 4, 1923, attended Columbus School and graduated from Hillhouse High School.   She worked in retail business at Lerner’s, Horowitz Department Store and until her retirement at Nora Zandre. She was very active at Sacred Heart Academy and Notre Dame High School and was past president of the Columbian Ladies and the Italian American Club of West Haven.   At St. Louis and Holy Infant Churches, Ida was a member of many parish organizations.

Ida will be remembered fondly by her family and circle of friends for her impromptu desire to share her cooking and baking talents and willingness to pray for  special intentions.  Ida’s generous heart and boundless love will live on in those who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Queen of the Apostles Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Monday, May 19 at 10:00. Family and friends are invited to gather at 9:30 at the church. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
