Alberto Maldonado, 58, of Clinton died suddenly on May 3, 2023. Born in Bronx, New York on February 24, 1965, a son of the (late) Angel Maldonado and Nelly Delgado. In addition to his beloved mother, Alberto is survived by the mother of his children, Edith Gonzalez; son Albert (Annemarie) Maldonado; daughters Gloria (Daniel) Seifert and Leslie (DeAndres) Milano; grandchildren Matteo and Ellamarie Maldonado, Nora and Gabriel Seifert, as well as Miabella, Chloe, and Brooklyn Milano; sister Haydee (Greg) Kosch and family; as well as Augustin “Lefty” Delgado and family. In addition to his father, Alberto was preceded in death by his brother Angel Maldonado.
A proud Boogie Down Bronx native, Alberto never forgot his roots, illustrated in part by his lifelong loyalty to the New York Yankees. One considered to have gifted hands; he was a Master Mechanic with a deep passion for vintage American cars (particularly Chevrolet). Alberto possessed an innate ability to understand and repair mechanical as well as electrical devices, in addition to being a talented artist. His favorite pastimes were that of painting, drawing, writing; however, his greatest hobby was crafting and painting both miniatures and models. Other strongly held interests were all things Star Wars (a fanatic of the original trilogy only!), and Nascar. He was a self-professed diehard fan of the sport and a deep admirer of Dale Earnhardt (#3).
Alberto was always the life of the party- whether joking, dancing, or playing DJ using his extensive vinyl record collection. He was known as a connoisseur of all music genres, with a special appreciation for what came out of the 80’s. He adored making people laugh with his jokes, impersonations, dancing, singing, and dubbing songs. Alberto was a deep-layered thinker, with a great capacity for love, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. His legacy will live on through his family, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, from 4 to 6 o’clock, at which time a Memorial Service will take place in the funeral parlor. Interment will remain private.
