Andrew J. Pacelli

Andrew J. Pacelli, 85, a former resident of West Haven entered into rest on Tuesday May 19, 2026.  He was the soulmate and husband of the late Linda Paduano Pacelli. Born in New Haven, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Tomaso Pacelli, Andrew spent his younger years in the Allingtown section of West Haven.  He was known for riding his horse Martini all the way down to Savin Rock, astounding many folks along the way.  Andrew enjoyed barefoot water skiing and boating along Lake Zoar, much to the concern of family and friends because he had no idea how to swim!

As an expert sharpshooter Andrew served abroad in the United States Army. He received numerous accolades and awards for his marksmanship. Always the prankster, Andrew travelled home from the service with a gift for his mother, a Spider Monkey. Although grateful to have her son return safely, Mom was none too pleased to acquire a monkey. Andrew worked for many years as a truck driver, notably for Consolidated Freightways. He was a proud member of Teamsters Union Local #443. Linda and Andrew lived life to the fullest, traveling to Las Vegas for months at a time with their dog Sasha, to Atlantic City and Florida. He found great pleasure in acquiring vintage cars, his favorite among many was a 1950’s Led Sled Mercury. 

Andrew leaves, to mourn his passing, two sons Anthony Pacelli and Andrew (Karen) Pacelli, brother Scott M. (Anne) Pacelli, and his sister-in-law Patricia Pacelli. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Linda, he is predeceased by brothers Robert T. and Joseph Pacelli Jr., and his treasured fur baby, his dog Cora.

He will be unconditionally loved and forever missed.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday morning May 22, 2026 from 9 to 11 at the West Haven Funeral Home.  A parlor service will begin at 11, followed by interment and military honors in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations may be made to the West Haven Animal Shelter.
