Ann M. (Babe) Carofano, 83, died suddenly on December 5, 2025. She was the widow of Francis “Snooky” Carofano. Born in New Haven, Ann was a daughter of the late Constantine “Gus” and Madeline Gatto Capasso. She spent most of her life as a West Haven resident. Ann’s devoted family includes her three sons Mark F., Robert C. (Jane) and Kevin J. (Alicia) Carofano and her brother Ronald (Linda) Capasso. Two brothers and their wives, Philip (Jean) and Ralph (Dolores) Capasso predecease her.
Ann led a full life enjoying her sons and family. In earlier years, she was a hairdresser. Her creativity shone through in her cake decorating skills. She could often be found in her kitchen, wooden spoon in hand, making a delicious sauce or other Italian dish. She spent countless hours tending to her gardens at her home in West Haven.
The hours for visitation will take place on Thursday December 11, 2025 from 8:30 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o’clock in St. John XXIII parish at St. John Vianney Church. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
