Ann (Brandi) Fitzgerald

On January 6, 2021 Ann Fitzgerald, age 92, passed away peacefully in Encinitas, California. Ann was born in New Haven, CT on August 15, 1928. She was the daughter of Alberto and Beatrice (Guglielmo) Brandi. Ann worked as an administrative assistant at the West Haven Board of Education. Ann was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother and lived for her family. Ann and her late husband, Raymond, graduated from the same high school class and married in 1953. They were a loving couple for 61 years and loved to travel. Ann lived the last 7 years near her son Albert, in California. Ann loved to write poetry and in the last years of her life wrote an autobiography tracing her parent’s arrival at Ellis Island from their native Italy.

 Ann is survived by her two sons, Robert (Joy) Fitzgerald of South Windsor, CT and Albert (Cathy) Fitzgerald of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and two grandsons, Sean (Erin) Fitzgerald and Chad Fitzgerald. In addition to her sons and grandchildren, she leaves her brother Rudy (Patricia) Brandi, sister-in-law, Ann Fitzgerald, and many loving nieces and nephews. Ann was a caring, fun-loving and generous person with an endearing smile. So shall we remember her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, at 10 o’clock, in Christ The Bread of Life Parish, Blessed Sacrament Campus, 321 Circular Ave, Hamden, CT 06514. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name should be made to Saint Ann’s Food Pantry, 322 Circular Ave., Hamden, CT 06514.
