Ann S. (Gentile) Piscitelli

Ann S. Piscitelli, age 94, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Clemente E. Piscitelli.   Ann is survived by her children; Patricia (Thomas) Carolla, John (Marlene) Shannon, 7 grandchildren Cheryl (Michael) DiBenedetto, Joseph (Roma Ann) Carolla, Jason (Marley Kennedy) Carolla, Frank (Katie) Shannon, Jay (Ileana) Shannon, Stacey (Dan) O’Connor, Marcia (David) MacNiven, 11 beloved great-grandchildren & her dear friend Kathy Izzo. In addition to her husband, Ann was predeceased by her parents & siblings, Concetta “Connie” Richards, Emily Perrotti, Anthony (Biff) Gentile, Retired Major George Gentile, and Alfred & John DeSanto.

For over 50 years, Ann worked as a bookkeeper at Tiles of Distinction.  On October 9, 2009, Ann was honored by the City of West Haven during its’ Columbus Day Celebration.In addition to raising her children and holding a fulltime job, Ann managed to be a very vital and active community member.  In New Haven, she cofounded the Hill Recreation Group to clean up the Hill section of town.  She served as a two-term alderwoman and was the former secretary of the Democratic Women’s Club.  Once she turned her sights to West Haven, Ann volunteered tirelessly as the treasurer of WHEAT and ACTION, a member of the West Shore Lodge 2832, Sons and Daughters of Italy, Wags & Whiskers and HOPE at the First Lutheran Church. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday June 24 at 10:00 o’clock at Our Lady of Victory Church, formerly St. John Vianney Church. Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WHEAT.
