Arnold Chudoba Obituary

Arnold E. Chudoba, 91, of West Haven, passed away on February 14, 2021 at his home.  Arnold was reunited on the most romantic day of the year with his late wife of 59 years, Dorothy Chudoba, whom he lovingly referred to as “his sweetheart”.  A son of the late Benjamin & Eleonor Chudoba, Arnold was born in Ansonia on October 13, 1929.   He is survived by siblings Richard (Irene) Chudoba of Derby; Barbara (Louis) Angelucci and Joan Douglas, both of Ansonia; brother-in-law Jim Benato of Shelton; sister-in-law Leslie Chudoba of Cheshire; son Daniel (Karen) Chudoba of West Haven; granddaughter Dianna (Stephen) Chudoba as well as great-granddaughter Peyton Davis, of West Haven.  Arnold is predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Zigmunt and Clarence and three sisters, Linda, Carol and Sylvia.  Arnold considered himself a simple man who adored his family and would plan out innumerous family vacations over the years and often looked back at the excursions with such fond memories.  His trade profession of being an electrician was one he very much enjoyed, often helping many friends and neighbors long after his retirement from the Hubbell Corporation.  His biggest passion however was fishing, NEVER missing an opportunity to be on the water.  He could often be found in the coldest of temperatures out ice-fishing, never wanting to miss out on the next great catch.  He would construct his own wooden rods and was so happy to bring his great-granddaughter Peyton along for the adventures.  The highlight came when Peyton, whom he adoringly referred to as “his baby”, won a local fishing tournament- giving Arnold bragging rights from then-on!  He will forever be missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  All services will be private at this time.
