Barbara Ann (Harrington) Durand

Barbara Ann Durand, age 78, of West Haven passed away on June 24, 2024.  She was the loving wife of Thomas Durand.  Barbara was a lifelong resident of West Haven, daughter of Ann Kootz Harrington and the late James Harrington.  In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children, Yvette (Russ) Newman of Wallingford, Teri (Mark Allen) Durand of Meriden and Thomas Durand of Orange, her grandchildren, Yvonne Crowley, Erin (John) Magnuson, Kristin Crowley, Marissa, Kelsey & Carter Newman and Jonathan Durand.

For many years Barbara was a Girl Scout Leader.  In her professional career, she was a secretary for the University of New Haven.  Barbara enjoyed crafting, which could involve anything from crocheting and sewing to collectables.  She always had a camera for photos, always capturing the fun at every party or event.  Tom and Barbara also enjoyed watching NASCAR races together. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  A funeral service will be held at 6pm.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Barbara’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
