Bernadette C. (Corriveau) Gilhuly

Bernadette C. Gilhuly, age 88 passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Joseph Gilhuly. Bernadette was born in West Haven, CT on June 14, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Alcide and Sadie Corriveau. She was a seamstress and designer for many years, and an honorary member of the 12 Step Club for 32 years.

Bernadette is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Joseph) Soli, her life partner Jim Boland, sister Letitia Barnes, grandchildren Danielle (Jeff) Larrivee, Michele (Sean) O’Brien, great-grandchildren Alanna, Sophie, Isabella, William, Sean Jr., Melody, & Frankie, whom she loved spending time with. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bernadette was predeceased by her grandson Joseph Jr., and her siblings, Franklin, Joseph, Edward, Robert, Raymond, Anita, Lillian, Marie and Beverly.

Visitation will be held on Monday morning May 10 from 9:00 to 10:30, at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave at 10:30, to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd., West Haven at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Masks must be worn at all indoor services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society, or The Wounded Warriors Project.
