Brian Lavery Obituary

Brian Lavery, 60, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of West Haven, Brian was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend whose strength and warmth touched all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Andrea, and their two cherished children, Ben and Maggie, whom he adored beyond measure.  Brian and Andrea shared a deep bond and treasured their time together on Block Island, where they created lasting memories exploring their favorite places. Brian also leaves behind his brothers Thomas (Debbie C.) Lavery, Joseph (Sharon) Lavery, and Gene (Karen) Lavery; his father-in-law Guido Migiano; sister-in-law Nora Migiano; his best friend Pete Crouth and several nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Doris Lavery; his mother-in-law, Eileen Migiano; his sister, Winnie Coates; and his brother, John Lavery.

A proud West Haven High School alum, Brian excelled as a student-athlete in both baseball and football. His passion for local sports endured throughout his life, as he continued to support the West Haven Blue Devils long after graduation. He also played on the West Haven adult softball team for over 20 years, forming lasting friendships and memories on and off the field.

Professionally, Brian started his career right here in West Haven with Bayer Pharmaceutical and continued in the medical industry for several years before joining his final position with Medtronic. His dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

Brian found joy in the simple pleasures of life — especially in time spent with friends and family, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or Boston Red Sox. His loyalty, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green, 662 Savin Avenue, West Haven, CT.  In accordance with Brian’s wishes, all are requested to meet directly in St. John Vianney Church of St. John XXIII Parish, 300 Captain Thomas Boulevard, West Haven on Friday, September 5, 2025.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock.  Interment will be private.
