Carmela Ortiz (Apruzzese) Sullivan

Carmela Apruzzese Ortiz Sullivan, of East Haven, entered into rest on December 13, 2023. She was the wife of the late George Sullivan. Born in Plainville, on October 5, 1933, Carmela is survived by her children Henry (Nancy), Wanda, Louis (Debra), Wayne (Dawn) and Mickey (Lori) Ortiz, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

For many years, she was employed by the State of CT, at the National Guard New Haven Armory.  Carmela also drove a taxi and proudly was the first female cab driver in New Haven.  She was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the Boston Red Sox.

Visitation will take place on Monday December 18, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home.
