Cecilia (Zahariades) Jones

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of Cecilia Zahariades Jones, 74, on December 18, 2025.  Ceil’s heartbroken family includes her husband William Judson Jones, her children and their spouses Sarah and Rob Levin and Evan and Kathryn Jones; five grandchildren Parker, Cora, Jacob, Chloe and Grant and her siblings Virginia (Fred) Hylan, Steven (Sharon) Zahariades and Renie (Jim) Groumousas, all of whom she loved with absolutely every bit of her heart.  Ceil was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Irene Baxavanes Zahariades.

Ceil had so many interests and everyday pieces of life she enjoyed to the fullest-she loved her cats. She enjoyed music, dancing and attending concerts. The true definition of a social butterfly, Ceil was always the life of the party.  Usually, she was the first to arrive, bearing gifts and the very last to leave.  Every party was an event, food and decorations curated to the last detail, making each guest feel extra special. She expressed her gratitude and appreciation for her family and friends through heartfelt toasts. Her impeccable taste shone through in all she did, and as she adored fashion, she always looked elegant and stylish. Ceil had friends around the world.  Her genuine curiosity allowed her to befriend practically anyone she encountered - from a checkout person at a store to her treasured coworkers. One of her happiest places was at the beach, soaking up the sun.

Mere words on a page cannot begin to capture the essence of our wife and mother. She will be eternally missed.

Visitation will take place on Friday December 26, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  On Saturday morning services will begin at 10 o’clock in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, Orange.  Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
