Christy A. D’Addio, Jr. 80, of Derby, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief battle with cancer. He had recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Born in New Haven and after a few relocations, Christy spent most of his life in Orange before settling in Derby. He attended Notre Dame High School and Quinnipiac College, then completed his graduate studies at Yale University. A thirst for knowledge and higher education led Christy to earn his master’s degree in advanced education, followed by a successful career at AT&T.
Golf was Christy’s true passion in life, as illustrated by his attaining a college scholarship within the sport. He and his golf buddies Bill, Lou, Buzzy and Max seized the opportunity to play whenever, and whichever course was available. An intelligent, pleasant, and sociable gentleman, Christy will be missed by all those he leaves behind, most especially his friends and family.
His family would like to thank the staff at Griffin Hospital Hospice Unit for their caring support. In lieu of flowers, please offer a prayer or consider a memorial donation to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 29, from 10:30 AM until Noon. A memorial service will then commence in the funeral parlor at Noon. Interment will remain private.
