David Spillane, 73, formerly of West Haven, CT, passed away on September 26th surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in 1951, David was a proud graduate of West Haven High School, where he first began to show the charisma and charm that would follow him throughout his life. He went on to build a career as a salesman. A profession perfectly suited for someone with his gift of gab. David had a rare ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and walk away with a new friend.
He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys such as traveling, going for car rides along the shore, and in his recent years enjoying car karaoke with his daughter and grandson. David’s love for the weather wasn’t just casual. He was known for tracking storms and sharing updates like a meteorologist, always excited by the changing skies.
David was a devoted father and is survived by his daughter, Hillarey Rowland, who will carry on his spirit and warmth. He is also survived by his grandson, Chayse Rowland, who was his absolute world. David leaves behind his brother, James Spillane and nephews Mark and Christopher Spillane as well as multiple lifelong friends. David was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Colleen Spillane, whom he never stopped holding close in his heart. He is also predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Margaret Spillane, and his brother Robert Spillane.
Those who knew David will remember his infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, and easy conversation. His stories, love for life, and generous heart will be missed beyond measure.
Friends may visit on Thursday October 2nd from 5 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.
