Deborah Romero Obituary

Deborah Lee Romero, formerly of West Haven passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, with her sister by her side. Born in Milford on April 5, 1955, a daughter of the late Marie Helland Casagrande. Deb was also predeceased by her stepfather Frank Casagrande and her longtime partner Al Posey.  Her loving family includes sister Donna (John) Mishiwiec, brothers Douglas (Angie) Miller, Dike (Deborah) Miller and Alfred (Kelly) Casagrande; eight nieces and nephews Danielle, Denise, Devan, Paul, Timothy, Dike, Alfred and Vinny; seven great nieces and nephews Pasha, Bradley, Enzo, Matteo, Finn, Dax, Fia Rose; and many friends too numerous to name.

In her youth, Deb belonged to 4-H, where she discovered her love of horses. A graduate of West Haven High School, Deb worked for Howard Johnson’s, Long Wharf for many years and later for the Rib House, East Haven. A 40-year member of City Point Yacht Club auxiliary; she involved herself in all aspects of the club.  She loved being around people, having a good time and socializing, reasons she chose to waitress and bartend.  She enjoyed planning parties and catering for friends. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will take place on Sunday March 1 from one pm to four pm at the West Haven Funeral Home.  A prayer service will begin at 3:30 at the funeral home.  Donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation, liverfoundation.org.
