Deborah Stewart-Highsmith

Deborah Stewart-Highsmith, age 69, of Hamden passed away on April 24, 2022. For the past 44 years, she was the loving partner and wife of Robert Highsmith. Deborah was born in New Haven, daughter of the late James Sr. and Doris Brockenberry-Stewart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished daughter Tanisha Stewart-Boyd (Aaron) of NC, her adoring grandchildren, Johnathon, Cheyenne and Aaryn, and her siblings, Dorothea Stewart Cooper and James (Joan) Stewart Jr. all of Hamden.

Prior to her retirement, Deborah enjoyed her career working as an administrative assistant for CT Mental Health Center, traveling, and spending time with her extended family, including a host of adored nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9-11 am at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Remembrance will commence at the funeral home at 11 am. Interment will follow in Milford Cemetery.
