Diane (Gargiulo) Chambery

Diane Gargiulo Chambery, 72, of West Haven passed away on Thursday May 17, 2024 at her home. Her husband Ralph V. Chambery died in 2009.  Diane retired from the New Haven Parking Authority.  As a cashier, Diane made sure she had candy for the drivers and biscuits for their furry passengers as they paid their tickets.   She led a very full life, involved in the lives of her daughters and their children.  She enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia, pig themed knick-knacks and singing karaoke, cooking lobster tails on Christmas Eve and spoiling everyone with her awesome brownies. Until very recently, her fun-loving spirit continued to shine- she loved the thrill of riding on roller coasters and on a Harley!

Diane’s heartbroken family includes her daughters Nancy (Tim) Nhean and Tracy Chambery Sanchez (Rick), three adored grandchildren Jace and James Nhean and Antonio Sanchez, her siblings Patricia Conelli and Carol Mauriello, Henry and Frank Gargiulo and her best friend John Ferraro.  She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Nancy Casagrande Gargiulo.  Although she will be reunited with Ralph, words cannot describe how sadly she will be missed.  She was kind, thoughtful, fun and a truly caring mother and grandmother.  She will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation will take place on Monday May 20 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home.  On Tuesday morning her procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII Parish at 10 o’clock.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
