Dolores DeRosa English, 93, formerly of West Haven, entered into rest on March 13, 2025. She was the wife of the late Eric English. A daughter of the late Carmen and Antoinette Furino DeRosa, Dolores leaves her sister Ann (the late Richard), Gargamelli, sister-in-law Pauline DeRosa, the blessings of her relationship with all of Eric’s children and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by two brothers John (the late Alma) DeRosa and Carmen (Tom) DeRosa.
Dolores retired from Olin to lovingly care for her aging mother until her passing. Taking care of others was a priority for Dolores, not only family but through her volunteer work at WHEAT. She devoted hours to organizing and distributing food there. For many years, she was a faithful communicant of St. John XX111 Parish. Love of family remained of paramount importance to Dolores, preparing a Christmas Eve feast, playing setback and pinochle with them, watching Yankees baseball. She will be remembered fondly and sadly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday morning March 18 from 8:30 to 10:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XX111 Parish at the Church of St. Louis at 10:30. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WHEAT, 674 Washington Ave., West Haven, CT. 06516.
