Dorothy A. Kasprzycki

Dorothy A. Kasprzycki, 74, of West Haven, died on May 11, 2022.  Born in Waterbury on September 23, 1947, a daughter of the late Edward R. and Rhea (Demouchel) Brooks.  Survived by her loving children Brian (Stephanie) Kasprzycki and Lisa (Richard) Bernard; brother Edward Brooks; grandchildren Matthew Kasprzycki, Brooke, and Bobby Bernard; as well as many adored nieces and nephews.  She is additionally predeceased by her brother Robert Brooks, and her most beloved husband of 44 years, Mark Kasprzycki.

Dorothy enjoyed her lengthy career as an accountant for PetroTech oil field supplier, ultimately retiring at the young age of 71.  Family was of highest priority for Dorothy, and those who knew her could always rest assure a hug or advice were always easily accessible.  Her effervescence, fun-loving spirit, understanding, and compassionate ways were among a few of her many noted qualities.  Favored pastimes included playing Bingo and Dominoes with friends and family, time spent volunteering for the West Haven Senior Center, crocheting items for so many, and the quality time spent with her adorable grandchildren and cat ‘Ceasar’, all of whom she reserved deep affection. 

 Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, May 18th, from 3 to 6 o’clock.  A funeral service will commence at 6 o’clock, in the funeral parlor.  Interment will be private.

A breast cancer survivor herself, Dorothy’s family have requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Smilow Cancer Hospital.
