Duane "Zeke" Solimeno

Duane Bradford Peter “Zeke” Solimeno passed away suddenly and unexpectantly at his winter home in Boynton Beach, FL on May 10, 2026. Born on March 25, 1952, in West Haven CT, and grew up in Milford, CT, he was 74. Duane was the son of the late William and Carmel DeFillipi Solimeno, Sr. He is survived by his brother William “Bill”, wife Sabrina Solimeno of Sanbornville, NH, his brother Robert, wife Donna Solimeno of Milford, CT, his soulmate, Linda Flock of Greenwood, IN, nieces and nephews, Kevin and Ela Solimeno, children Natalie and Savannah, Tracey Solimeno-Ciriello and Tony, children Luca, Marcello, and Gianna, Bridget and Jamie Ivers, children Lily and Matilda, Chris Solimeno, children Gianna and Victoria, Paul Solimeno, AJ and Kim DiRienzo, children Gianna and Ella, Lexi and Marc Butler, children Braden and Liam, numerous cousins, and an infinite number of extended family and friends.

Zeke received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UCONN. He went on to become an admired industry leader, working for several top engineering companies, including Texas Instruments, where he received several patents for microprocessors which led the industry for many years. He later developed multiple retail products for other companies, ranging from the talking Cabbage Patch Doll, Q*bert, and Simon, to the perfect French Fryer for Burger King, among other inventions. After a brief stint at Micron Technology in Idaho, as VP of Marketing and Sales, he returned to CT and started Micro Computer Technology in Rocky Hill, where he and a small team of engineers developed many industry products for companies such as Carrier Air Conditioner and Otis Elevators. In 1987 he shifted his focus to the newspaper publishing industry, developing a powerful advertising database product (AdTracker) that dominates U.S. and foreign newspapers today. Zeke was just beginning his retirement from Database Publishing Systems, Inc. when he was called to his new home in heaven.

Although Zeke’s professional accomplishments were numerous, what set him apart was his warmth, depth of compassion, generosity, honesty, and his loyalty in caring for others – always putting their needs above his own. His faith was reflected through his loyal support of his parish’s (St Elizabeth Seton / St Josephine Bakhita) outreach ministries since 2004. Zeke donated, organized, and served meals to the less fortunate at the ImmaCare homeless shelter in Hartford, CT. Over the years he "Hoofed it for Haiti" in the annual 5k run to raise money for his parish's sister parish and school in Haiti. During his winter months in FL, he was a dedicated member of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church.

Zeke had a true zest for life and enjoyed entertaining, cooking, traveling, golfing, cycling, hiking, playing pickleball, and walking his loyal canines with Linda. He was an avid UCONN Huskies fan and lifetime Yankees fan. Zeke was a one-of-a-kind human being. He had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

“To the world he was one, but to us he was the world." Forever missed, forever loved. We will be together again.

On Saturday morning May 30, 2026, visitation will take place between 9 and 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII parish at 11 o’clock.
