Ed Brady Obituary

Edward "Ed" Brady passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 11, 1964, and raised in East Hampton, Ed was lovingly brought up by his aunt and uncle, Marion and Richard Brady. From them, he learned the values of hard work, kindness, and family that he carried with him throughout his life.

Ed dedicated several years to the West Haven Board of Education, where he was admired for his dedication, reliability, and willingness to go the extra mile. His colleagues remember him as hardworking, dependable, and always ready with a smile. Beyond his work, Ed was known by all as a man with a big heart. He was funny, generous, and always willing to lend a hand—whether it was giving you the shirt off his back, sharing a laugh, or simply being someone you could count on. His final act of kindness was as an organ donor, a true reflection of the selflessness that defined his life. His greatest joy came from his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his world.

Ed will be remembered as a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man whose presence made every room warmer. His love for his extended family and many friends was boundless, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his children: son Michael Brady and his wife Brittany Brady of Hermon, NY, and their children Haiden, Leeum, and Lynn; daughter Christina Brady and her spouse William Dunsmoor of Central Square, NY, and their children Wyatt and Clara. He is also survived by his siblings: Arlene Brady of East Haddam, CT, and her children Joseph and Samantha; Christopher Brady and spouse Thomas Corcoran of Branford, CT; and Bruce Brady of Olympia, WA. Ed is further survived by Mom Barb; Rosa Richardson; Louis Richardson; Cheryl Mayberry (Raymond); Deborah Miller (Dike Sr.); and all of his beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his aunt and uncle, Marion and Richard Brady, and by his cherished grandson, Kayce Silas-Graham, whom he loved so very much. Though Ed is no longer with us, the love he gave to his children, grandchildren, family, and friends will continue to shine through them. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and devotion will never be forgotten.

A service in remembrance of Ed will take place on Saturday October 4, at 10 am at the Woodmont United Church of Christ, 1000 New Haven Avenue, Milford.
