On January 29, 2021, Ed left this world to join his beloved wife Patricia Donnelly Carboni, in Heaven to continue their love affair for all eternity. Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory, hisbeloved children Francine (Bill) Carboni-Barbarito and Edward (Kathy) Carboni Jr., his four adoring grandchildren Olivia and Courtney Barbarito, Casey and Stephanie Carboni , great grandson Jayden Kralovich and his best friend Anibal (Coach) Brito. He was predeceased by his sisters Clarisse Carboni Anastasio and Laurel Carboni Care. Born in New Haven on February 3, 1944, Ed was a son of the late Lawrence (Levant) and Edith Zandri Carboni. He was a proud employee of the former S.N.E.T. starting his career as a Central Office Technician then a Special Service Circuit Design Engineer, retiring as a Business Forecaster. Ed’s love for his family was ever present, from the enjoyment of golfing with his grandson, to lunch and shopping with his granddaughters, attending game dinners and fishing with Ed Jr. and cooking and baking Christmas cookies with his daughter. The light of his life was his great grandson Jayden, who he loved to play with, enjoying the many antics to tease his Pop-Pop. Ed had many, many friends, some since the days of growing up on Carlisle Street in New Haven. He loved to visit many of them at the Marchegian Club to catch up and to enjoy the games played there and the wonderful Marchegian dinners served. He loved to travel, especially enjoying the cruises taken with his adoring wife and friends. He truly loved his life with Patty, who brought him love and happiness like he’d never known before. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoyed attending many games and traveling to the many ballparks across the country to see them play.
