A lifelong resident of West Haven, Elizabeth was born March 15, 1937, a daughter of the late Theodore A. and Jennie Lavorgna Rocheleau. Her large and loving family includes three loving children Timothy J. (Lisa) Anthony, Cynthia A. (Bruce) Lerner and Christopher N. (Millie) Anthony; eight grandchildren Kimberlee E. (Rick) McKenna, Rebecca (Jared) LaFosse-Baker, Devin S. Lerner, Meghan (Daniel) Snyder, James Anthony, Mathew (Callie) Anthony, Liam and Quinn Anthony, four great grandchildren RayLee, Tenley, Kennedy and Olive and many nieces and nephews. Two children, Pamela J. Anthony and Jonathan M. Anthony and her brother William K. (Shirley) Rocheleau predeceased her.
Elizabeth graduated from the Old St. Louis School, New Haven in 1950, and then from Sacred Heart Academy in 1954. Prior to starting her family, she was employed by SNET for five years. Upon Elizabeth’s return to the job force, she worked at Academic Industries, an educational distribution center, for twenty-nine years, until the closure of the company in 2001. Not one to sit still for too long, she began employment at the West Haven Veterans Hospital as a food server, often with a smile and a story about her children. She retired at the young age of 80! Her family will forever remember the holidays, picnics and parties where the food was plentiful, the house was full and countless movies and photos were taken, creating cherished and loving memories.
Visitation will take place on Thursday January 23 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. There are no other services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105; http://www.stjude.org/
