Emily Sarro, age 94, of West Haven passed away peacefully at West River Health Care Center, Milford on May 9, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Carmen T. Sarro. Emily was born in New Haven, daughter of the late James and Julia Bagnano Alfiere. She is survived by her children Deborah (Tim) Collins, Tina (Charles Virzi) Goodwin, Thomas Sarro, Cindy Cordone, her 9 grandchildren Julie Stancarone, Dustin Werle, Jill McCormack, Nicole Tomassi, Crystal Goodwin, Nicholas Sarro, Michael Sarro, Joey Cordone, and Ryan Cordone, 11 great grandchildren, and her grand dog Roo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emily is predeceased by her son Carmine Sarro and her siblings, Helen Fontana, Ralph, and James Alfiere.
Prior to her retirement, Emily worked for Lender’s Bagels and Pez Candy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9-10:30am at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will then leave the funeral home at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church of St. John XXIII Parish at 11am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
