Eugene A. Palmieri, Gene, or Geno as he was affectionately known, of Northford, died peacefully on May 24, 2026. He was born July 6, 1944, in New Haven, CT. He leaves, to mourn his passing, his sister Barbara Palmieri, daughters Adrienne Quattone and Christine (John) Sommo, three granddaughters Giavonna, Giuliana and Gabriella Quattone, and his wife of 35 years Diane Palmieri. He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Adeline Antonucci Palmieri and his loving pets Abby, Chelsea, and Mr. Missy. An Army veteran, Gene served during the Vietnam War.
Gene started his career as a plumber with Airsen Plumbing HVHC and was a member of the plumbers and pipefitters union local 777. He later worked for 20 years in the plumbing department of Home Depot in North Haven, achieving lasting friendships. Gene enjoyed water skiing and motorcycling, and took great pride in his motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson. He previously spent 30 years in Branford with his wife and family in the home he custom built. Gene lived his life to the fullest and he will be dearly missed.
On Thursday morning June 4 visitation will take place between 9:30 and 11:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon in St. John Bosco parish at St. Mary’s Church, Branford. Interment of cremains, with military honors, will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
