Frances Ciancola, 92, of West Haven, died peacefully on September 16, 2024. Born in New Haven on July 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Monaco) Sparano. Survived by her sons-in-law Richard Adams and William Kavanagh; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Anthony Sparano; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Charles Ciancola; her daughters Donna Adams, Gail Kavanagh, and Janet Ciancola; as well as her sisters Carmel Mendillo and Pauline Cassesse Friend.
Family was at the heart of Frances’s life. She was the consummate hostess, preparing special meals for all those who gathered, and cleaning the house until everything sparkled. Watching television was one of her most-loved pastimes, The Game Show Network and Turner Classic Movies being among her favorites.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, from 10am to 12:30pm, at which time her funeral service will commence in the parlor. Interment will remain private.
