Frances M. Martel

Frances M. Martel, age 95, of West Haven passed away on January 31, 2023.  She was the loving wife of the late Gordon Martel Sr.  Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Peter and Grace Herman Boyhen.  She is survived by her children, Gordon (Marie) Martel Jr. of GA, Deborah (Peter) Gwiazdowski of West Haven and Lorie LeCleir of West Haven, her grandchildren Paul Gwiazdowski and Julie (Mike) Stromberg, and her great grandchildren Ryan and Jack Stromberg.  Frances was predeceased by her sister Betty Hutchins, her grandson Peter Gwiazdowski and her son-in-law Charles LeCleir. 

Frances lived in Michigan for many years, where she and Gordon were active in their community.  They traveled in Europe and many parts of the US, with their time share group “The Nomads”.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10-11:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  A funeral service will commence at 11:30 at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.
