Fred Messore

July 2, 1932 – April 30, 2026

Fred Messore, 93, of West Haven,  passed away peacefully at Yale- New Haven Hospital. Born on July 2, 1932 in Alife, Province of Caserta, Italy. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Giuseppe and  Leonilda Versetti Messore and his brother Ralph Messore. He is survived by his stepsister, Joanne Messore and stepbrother, Albert Messore

Fred leaves his adored wife of almost 69 years, Rosa, loving daughter Hilda (Eddy) Salerno, his devoted son Fred and cherished granddaughter Nicolina, who he loved unconditionally. Most important to Fred, was spending time with his little family. He will join his beloved son Nicky, who has been waiting for him at the door to paradise.For over 45 years, Fred worked as a machine operator for Ross and Roberts, Inc. He served as a union steward and past president of the United Rubber Workers Local 837. He was always a hard worker and more recently worked for Greco Auto Parts where he enjoyed speaking with all the mechanics.

Visitation will take place on Friday May 8, 2026 from 10 am to noon at the West Haven Funeral Home. A parlor service will begin at noon. Private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
