Gabriel J. Petrecca Sr.

Gabriel J. Petrecca Sr., age 74, of West Haven passed away suddenly on September 13, 2024.  For 48 years, he was the loving husband of Marie Civitello Petrecca.  Gabriel was born in New Haven, son of the late Gerald and Pasqualina Greco Petrecca.  He was the cherished father of Gabriel John Petrecca Jr. of West Haven and LisaMarie Bernardo and her husband Russ of North Haven, devoted grandfather of Paul Anthony and Joseph Michael Bernardo.  Gabriel is also survived by his siblings, Gerald “Gerry” Petrecca and his wife Joy of Guilford and Rosemarie Petrecca and her husband William Beich of NJ. 

Prior to his retirement, Gabriel was the maintenance supervisor at Vertical Church, West Haven. He was a proud member of Vertical Church since 1996, where he engaged in many prayer groups and clubs.  Gabriel always enjoyed trips to Cape Cod with his family.  The Cape was his happy place. 

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 – 11am at the Vertical Church, 225 Meloy Rd, West Haven, CT 06516.  A memorial service will commence at 11am in the church.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gabriel’s name to the charity of one’s choice.  West Haven Funeral Home at the Green has been entrusted with arrangements.
