Galen "Gil" Nally of West Haven passed away on November 28th, one day shy of his 86th birthday. He was born on November 29, 1937, in the Hill Section of New Haven. Galen was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna Nally. Galen is survived by his two devoted daughters and their spouses, Suzanne and William Gall of West Haven and Cape Coral, Florida and Kate and Sal Esposito of North Haven. He is also survived by his two granddaughters Isabella Esposito and Erika Gall, who were the absolute brightest lights in his life. Gil retired from Clark Lift where he worked as a forklift mechanic but, according to him, his most important job was his role of Poppy and babysitter to his granddaughters. Poppy spoiled his girls, and they will forever be grateful for the role he had in their lives. Gil enjoyed researching his family genealogy, sitting at the West Haven Beach and trips to the casino. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, George and Ruth Nally as well as his siblings George and Regina Nally. Gil's memory will be forever cherished by his family and friends who loved him.
Calling hours will be held this Saturday, from 9 to 11 o'clock, at which time his funeral service will commence in the funeral parlor. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
