Gerald A. Calabritto

Gerald A.Calabritto, 75, of West Haven, CT passed away at home on January 12, 2026.

Born in Bridgeport on September 3, 1950, Jerry was a long-time resident of West Haven. He was active in local politics, serving as a member and chairman of the West Haven Board of Education for many years, as well as on several other boards and committees.

Jerry was a former youth hockey coach, a member of the West Haven Italian American Club, and worked as a Connecticut State Marshal.

Perhaps his proudest affiliation was his lifelong membership in the Freemasons, the world’s oldest fraternity. He was an Honorary Past Master of Annawon Lodge No. 115 A.F. & A.M. and was elected to serve as Master of the Masonic Lodge of Research in New Haven, CT, earning the title of Worshipful Brother. He also served as Right Excellent Grand Captain of the Host of the Grand Chapter of Connecticut and was due to be the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of Connecticut in 2028. In addition, Jerry served as Treasurer for numerous lodges and appendant bodies, where his expertise, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail were deeply valued and will be greatly missed.

Jerry was predeceased by his sister, Gail Marcella and brother-in-law, Joseph J. Marcella. He is survived by his nieces Lisa Liscio-Silva (Chris), Danielle A. Marcella-Cunningham, Cassandra K. Marcella, his nephews Steven Liscio, Jeremy Liscio, and  Frank Gorske, his great-nieces Angelina Gorske, Mia Gorske, and Courtney Gorske, his great-great-nieces and nephews Sophia, Hector, Zaiden, and Jessiah, and his goddaughter Luciana Jo.

Gerald was a proud supporter of Donate Life and a kidney transplant recipient.
