Gregory Amendola

Gregory “Gordy” Amendola, age 92, of Hamden passed away on August 19, 2023 at CT Hospice.  He was the loving husband of the late Theresa Cavalier Amendola.  Gordy was born in New Haven, son of the late Frank and Maria Arena Amendola.  He is survived by his children, Gregory F. Amendola of Bethany, Mary Rose Amendola of MT, Dolores “Pinky” Conroy of FL and Richard “Ricky” Amendola of West Haven, his grandchildren, Christine (Mike Flannery) Conroy, Jennifer (Chuck Turic) Conroy, Grace Ibsen, and Alfred Ibsen, and his great granddaughter Alana Turic.  In addition to his wife and parents, he is also predeceased by his siblings, Mary Corso, Fannie Sagnella, Louise Pisano, Madeline Manzo, Andrew and Frank “Junie” Amendola.

Gordy proudly served his country in the US Army.  For 46 years, he enjoyed his career as an appliance repairman for the Sears and Roebuck.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-6pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  Military honors will follow at 6pm in the funeral home.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
