Jaime Carreiro Pereira

Jaime C. Pereira, 69, of West Haven, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

For 43 years he was the loving husband of Ana Medeiros Pereira and the loving father of Cristina (Steve) Mantilia, Sonia (Tyler) Crease, Kevin (Jessica) Pereira. He was the beloved grandfather of Steven Jr., Nicholas, Ava, Christian, Sophia, Emma and Jackson.

In addition, Jaime leaves his siblings and their spouses, Jose (Urselina) Pereira, Antonio (Ermelinda) Pereira, Maria Teresa (Andrez) Komar, Angelo (Natalia) Pereira, Durval (Gloria) Pereira, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Joao and Maria de Jesus Pereira, and his  twin brother Silvestere Pereira. Born in Lomba do Botão Povoacão, São Miguel Açores Portugal on June 2, 1952, he was a son of the late António Ventura Pereira and Maria José Carreiro.

Jaime settled in New Haven in 1978.  The following year, he married the love of his life, and together they raised their beautiful family.  He was a hard worker and for many years was employed by C. J. Fucci Construction.  Family was most important to Jaime. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. In addition to his family, his greatest pleasures were found in landscaping and gardening, soccer, clamming, daily walks, playing dominos and cards. He  enjoyed making people laugh.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at the West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT. 06489.
