James Bellonio, 80, of West Haven, entered into rest on June 18, 2026. Born in New Haven on October 15, 1945, to the late Armand and Carmella (DePeno) Bellonio. James is survived by niece Kayla Dorvil.
Before retiring, James was a custodian at Yale University, where he was well-liked by faculty, staff, and students. He took great pride in his responsibilities and was commended for his solid work ethic.
James was adored for being a man with a generous heart, a helping hand, and a personality that could fill any room. Those who knew James appreciated how he loved to talk, to share stories, and to connect with people. He never hesitated to help someone in need and was often the first person willing to lend a hand, to offer advice, or to simply be there when he was needed.
Throughout his life, James touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering willingness to help others. He built meaningful relationships that extended far beyond blood relatives.
To many, James was a trusted friend and source of support. His presence will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had James in their circle of friends.
