James N. Forsyth, 57, a lifelong resident of West Haven, died suddenly on June 19, 2024. Born March 21, 1967 in New Haven, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Vitelli Forsyth. Jim is survived by his daughter Emily Stewart, his brother Matthew (Nicole) Forsyth, their daughter Abbey, and many cousins.
Jim, or “Bernie" as he was known by many close friends and coworkers, was a licensed glazier by trade. He began his career at the Anderson Glass Company, and after a few years of working for other contractors, he returned there recently as a project manager. Jim was also an avid sports fan of the Los Angeles Rams, Boston Bruins, and New York Yankees.
Jim was also active in the community as he was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and the West Haven Irish American Club. He also was proud of the annual Setback Tournament he runs with his brother, an event that raises money for West Haven Special Olympics.
Visitation will take place on Sunday June 30th from 3 to 6 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment will be private.
