Janet Marie Clini, 89, of West Haven, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in New Haven on November 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Latella) Nastri. Survived by her three children Yvonne (Robert) Tosetti of West Haven, Paul (Ruth) Clini of West Haven, and Pasquale (Kelly) Clini of Wallingford; 10 cherished grandchildren; 12 beloved great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruno Clini.
Janet married the love of her life, Bruno, shortly after graduating from high school. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and devotion to one another. Janet worked as a bookkeeper for most of her career and later enjoyed working in retail.
Janet was known for her remarkable strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. No matter what challenges life placed before her, she faced them with courage and determination. One of her greatest joys was watching her granddaughter dance, having never missed a performance.
In her free time, Janet enjoyed bowling and remained connected to the sport even after she stopped playing, often spending time in the bowling alley cheering on others. She also loved knitting, relaxing at the beach, and sitting on her porch with a good book.
Janet fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, she never gave up nor complained. Her strength, grace, and will to live remained evident until the very end.
Yvonne would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to Jeffrey and Adele for the special care, kindness, and friendship they showed her mother over the years. Janet’s family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Yale New Haven Hospital Medical ICU for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided during her final days.
Janet will be remembered for her strength, devotion to family, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 30th, from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by a service within the funeral parlor. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
