Jerome (Jerry, Buddy) Radcliffe, 89, a longtime resident of West Haven, passed away on April 15th 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Theresa Naclerio. Cherished father of Donna Radcliffe, Michael (Christine) Radcliffe, Jerome (Jay) Radcliffe and Rechelle (Burt) Caruthers; adoring grandfather of Cynthia, Michael, Jessica, Joseph, Katelyn and Kayden Radcliffe, Christopher Edwards, Jacob Levine, David Kunst, Jr. Drake and Quint Caruthers and great grandfather of Kathleen Edwards, Lily Rogers, Alex Cretella, David and Niklaus Collins. He also leaves his brother-in-law of Richard Naclerio, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, too numerous to name and his fur baby Thor. Predeceased by siblings Maureen (Charles) Roxbee, Alana (Louis) Naclerio, James (Joanne) Radcliffe and his pup Cocoa.
Born in New Haven on April 25, 1936, a son of the late Frank and Anne Cummings Radcliffe, Buddy lived a life of patriotism, devoted to many Veterans causes. Employed at the New Haven Railroad, the United States Postal Service and the New Haven Register, Jerry worked tirelessly in order to provide the best he could for his family. He served proudly in the Connecticut Army National Guard and on the West Haven Police Auxiliary. Buddy remained a faithful communicant of St. Lawrence Church until its closing.
The hours for visitation will take place on Thursday April 23 from 4 to 8 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home. On Friday morning the procession will leave the funeral home at 9 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Louis, Parish of St. John XXIII at 9:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to (Tunnel2Towers) T2T.org.
