Jeryl Vets Gagliardi - Levy

Jeryl “Jeri” Vets Gagliardi Levy passed away peacefully in New Haven, Connecticut on April 23, 2025. Born in New Haven on April 13, 1935, Jeri was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Rena (Genta) Vets.

Jeri dedicated her life to healthcare and education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut and later her Master of Professional Studies with a concentration in Health Services from Quinnipiac University. Her esteemed career as a Registered Nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital spanned 40 years, beginning in the Newborn Special Care Unit and culminating in her impactful role as Clinical Director of Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Levy; her younger daughter, Karen Hawley; and her brother, Robert Vets. Jeri leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Loope of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Nicholas Loope (fiancée Alexa), Steven Hawley (fiancée Jodi), and Kimberly Reinwald (Daniel); great-granddaughter Gemma Reinwald; son-in-law Kenneth Hawley; sister-in-law Maureen Vets; nieces Sheryl Sobolewski (John) and Cynthia Powers (Beau); nephew Rob Vets, Jr (Chia-Hui) and their children.

Jeri is also survived by her devoted caregiver, Grace Attigah, whose support and consistent care brought comfort to her and the family over the past several years.

Cape Cod, where she and her husband owned a second home and made lasting memories, held a special place in Jeri’s heart. She found joy in gardening, working in her yard, and spending time with her grandchildren. A lover of the performing arts, Jeri delighted in attending Broadway musicals.

Jeri’s warmth, dedication, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. 662 Savin Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516. Funeral Home service will immediately follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
