Joan P. O'Brien, age 94, of West Haven, formerly of Prospect and Bristol, passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. Joan was born on September 1, 1930, in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Patrick and Beatrice Stack. She attended St. Anne's Grammar School and graduated from Wilby High School. She married her husband Robert and moved to Prospect where they raised their three children. They shared 63 years of marriage. While there, she worked as the assistant town clerk, served on the board of directors of the Prospect Drum Corps for 12 years, and worked at Region #16 school district until her retirement.
She leaves behind her daughters Kathy (Peter) Lombardozzi, with whom she resided for the last six years, Stacie (Chris) Roberge, of Bristol, grandchildren Katie (Tony) Leone and Noel Roberge (fiancée Kelly White) and great-grandchildren Josephine and Penelope Leone. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert O'Brien and a son, Thomas E. O'Brien.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 10 o'clock at St. John Vianney Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd., West Haven, CT. There will be no calling hours. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
