John Thomas Belinda, Sr.

John T. Belinda, Sr., 69, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Clara A Belinda (Anastasio). The son of the late Walter and Eleanor (Shedlock) Belinda. John was born in New Haven on December 5, 1955. For many years, he worked in the auto body industry, first at AAA and later at Andrade Motors. Trips to Disneyland and all things related to Star Wars brought John great enjoyment.

In addition to Clara, John leaves his cherished sons Frank (Christine Joy), Shawn (Irma) and Johnny (Tiffany). He was the proud grandfather of Alexyia, who will always be his Boobala, and Pop-pop to Harper and Johnny (Popeye) and his fur baby Nicky.

The hours for visitation will take place on Tuesday April 22 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green, 662 Savin Avenue, West Haven.  On Wednesday morning April 23, the procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII Parish 300 Captain Thomas Boulevard, West Haven at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
