John J. Riccio, age 70, of Orange, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully at CT Hospice on September 4, 2021. He was the husband of Roberta Leventhal. John was born in New Haven, son of the late Michael and Ida Naclerio Riccio. He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Pelatowski of Seymour, Michelle Riccio (Jimmy McDonnell) of West Haven, Christina (Santo) Galatioto of Orange, his step-children Kim (Jeff) Syrop of Orange and Marcy (Steven) Zuk of MA, his grandchildren, Olivia & Ella McDonnell, Madyson & Logan Pelatowski and Liliana Galatioto, his step grandchildren, Jordan, Gabrielle, Sam & Halle Syrop and Molly & Emma Zuk, his sister Linda Corraro of West Haven and his niece Gina (Danny) Williams of Durham. John was predeceased by his first wife Maureen Flynn Riccio and his brother-in-law Tony Corraro.
Prior to his retirement, he enjoyed his career as a Professional Firefighter for the City of West Haven, West Shore District. He was a baseball coach for many years with the American Legion Post 71.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9-11am at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11o’clock for a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11:30am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
