Joseph Aceto Jr., 71, beloved husband of 53 years to Lorrie Aceto, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2026. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, four grandchildren, a sister, and several nieces and nephews. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Christine Seminerio and his son Joseph A. C. Aceto. Joe’s legacy lives on with his grandchildren Nicholas Seminerio, Madison Seminerio, Austin Aceto and Anthony Gaudino. He is also survived by a sister Marie Sawicki of West Haven, son-in-law Nicholas Seminerio, and his sister and brother-in-law Heidi and Robert Turner.
Joe was born January 3, 1955, in New Haven, CT. to the late Joseph and Angelina Aceto Sr. Joe grew up in West Haven where he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. Together, Joe and Lorrie shared countless joyful memories, traveling all over the United States. They enjoyed cruises and numerous trips to Maine and Cape Cod, places that held a special place in their hearts. Joe’s love of the outdoors was shared with his wife and children on their many camping trips. Joe had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing. He cherished the peaceful moments outdoors and the subsequent gatherings with friends and family where stories of the day's adventures were shared. He also enjoyed being an NRA firearms instructor for many years and teaching firearm safety to homeowners. Joe was a proud licensed electrician and the owner of Aceto Electric, where he built a successful career serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. In his younger years, he was employed at the old New Haven heat treatment plant in New Haven, CT.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday January 12, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. On Tuesday January 13, church service will be at 10:00am in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 292 Orange Street, New Haven.
Parking for Trinity Lutheran Church is at the State Street / Wall Street Lot-10 Wall Street, New Haven, CT.
Interment will follow in 90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven.
