Joseph A. Aniballi, Sr.

Joe “The Loaf” Aniballi, Sr., 74, of New Haven, formerly of West Haven entered into rest on Sunday December 1, 2024 at Apple Rehab, Guilford.  Joe leaves his loving family, including his daughter Lisa Brown and her husband Seth, son Joseph Aniballi, Jr., his former wife Linda Cavallaro, adored grandchildren Danny White, Jr., Gianna Aniballi, Angelina Brown and Joseph Aniballi III; sister-in-law Bonnie Aniballi, cherished nieces Katherine (Tom), Kara (Sam) and great nephew Beckett. 

Born in New Haven, Joe was a beloved son of the late Anthony and Katherine Villano Aniballi. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Fred.

For many years, Joe delivered bread for the Lupi-Marchegiano Bakery.  His friendly face could be seen making stops throughout West Haven, dropping bread at the various restaurants and stores. He also worked tirelessly behind the counter and in the kitchen at the former Alfredo’s Gourmet, West Haven.  When not at work, he frequented the Elm Diner and Savin Rock Roasting Co.  Joe served as an Army reservist during the Vietnam War.

Joe enjoyed listening to The Beach Boys and watching James Bond Movies. The ultimate sports fan, he followed the New York Giants and the Yankees.  Somehow though, during the baseball strike in the 1994-95 season, he became a Red Sox fan!

Visitation will take place at the West Haven Funeral Home on Friday December 6 from 5 to 7 pm.  There are no other services.

Please omit flowers.  However, in the spirit of Joe, who would help anyone whenever they needed anything, please pay it forward with an act of kindness.
