Joseph Mastracchio Obituary

Joseph Louis Mastracchio, 86, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on May 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna Nuclo Mastracchio. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lucille, and his children Joseph (Joan), Christine (Butch), and Michael (Kimmy). He was also a proud grandfather to Toni-Ann, Joseph, Michael, and Kayla. Joe is further survived by his brothers, David (Patricia) and Edward (Eileen). He was predeceased by his brother Peter and his nephews Peter and Anthony.

A self-taught archer from a young age, Joe quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the sport. He was a co-founder of the Milford Bowhunters and earned numerous awards and state championships throughout his life. He shared his passion for archery with his children and grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy of talent and love for the sport. In addition to archery, Joe loved the outdoors, particularly boating, fishing, and the beach. He cherished many trips to Newport and Myrtle Beach with his wife ‘Lucky’ and family, where they made countless memories by the sea. Joe spent many years in the printing business and was the owner and president of Nova Printing in West Haven, a role he took great pride in. Joe will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
