Joseph (Joey) Louis Nacca passed away peacefully in West Haven after a two-year, ten-month, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Joe is survived by his devoted life partner Sandi Giordano and his sister Rose Marie Bradley. He is also survived by a large extended family and was especially fond of his nieces Lisa Ruck and Arlene Cullen and his cousin Tom Salemme. Among his many friends, Vinny, Don, and John were some of his closest pals. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Anne Salemme Nacca and his sister Phyllis June Cullen.
A lifetime West Haven resident and veteran of the US Army Reserves, Joe made a career as a talented furniture restorer and antique dealer. A discerning collector of antique furniture, cars, coins, vinyl records, and other early American memorabilia, Joe developed a rolodex of countless loyal customers. He was especially known for his talents, hobbies, and knowledge of world history. Joe was an avid fan of the UCONN Lady Huskies and was always proud of owning and sailing a Star Class sailboat. Later in life, Joe was a good-humored limousine driver, for Hy’s Livery, West Haven.
He enjoyed spending time with family, including trips to Italy. He loved ballroom and disco dancing, cruises and vacations with Sandi as well as their everyday adventures. Joe was known for his kind and generous nature. Always ready to lend a hand or a kind word, he will be missed dearly.
